In response to the other post I just saw about buying a PS4 being a bad move, I wanted to give my very positive experience with the PS4 since getting it Monday . I am coming from last gen where I had 360 and PS3 althought I primarily gamed on 360.
I purchased the Uncharted bundle here in Canada and also picked up Bloodborne, MKX, Mad Max, Dark Souls II Disc based and then Witcher 3 on sale via the PSN store. Here is what I have loved so far:
1. Controller is very comfy, I have slender but long hands and found the DS3 to be a pain vs the 360 controller. This one is a great improvement
2. No issues getting booted up and getting everything setup.
3. I have crappy 6 MB cable internet (usually more like 2-3 MB) but downloads are still quick. Witcher 3 download wasn't a pain at all.
4. Love the rest mode and the ability to charge the controller and continue to download games/content.
5. UI is nice, and I love being able to jump out of games quickly to the dashboard, etc...
6. Sound is great, I have my old Logitech z-5500 gaming PC speakers from years back and they work great in Dolby DTS with my optical cable.
7. Love the the controller headphone jack for when the wife and baby are sleeping
8. So far I have played Mad Max and MKX and the games look great, and the sound is fantastic.
The cons I guess would be the crappy battery they packed into the controller and the 5400 RPM 500GB HD is obviously not fantastic, but I could always upgrade to the seagate 1TB hybrid down the road. Overall very impressed and happy with the purchase so far.
